Our Story

In 1984, BMW motorcyclist Kermit Easterling needed a chair that was light enough to pack on his bike but sturdy and comfortable after a long ride. When he couldn’t find one, he built his own. Friends took notice at campouts and rallies, and soon, the Kermit Chair created it's own cult following.

When Kermit retired in 2003, fellow rider Tom Sherrill took over, keeping production local in Tennessee and continuing to produce the original design. Today, the chair is still handcrafted using oak or walnut wood, aluminum hardware, and tough 1000D nylon fabric.

What started as a rider’s solution has become a worldwide favorite for campers, travellers, and loungers around the world.

Still made by hand. Still made without obsolescence. We hope you're feeling relaxed...
